Questions about the quiz, the research behind it, or anything else — I'm here and I genuinely read every message.
My background is data science. For years, my work involved filtering raw data, identifying patterns, and converting data into meaningful, actionable insights. It was analytical, precise, and mostly disconnected from anything personal.
Then, a year ago, my life changed completely. My mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. I found myself in a situation I was wholly unprepared for — even with a background in data and a basic awareness of medical science, I was completely adrift. We had only 10 days of warning before the situation became critical. I didn't know enough about treatment pathways. I didn't understand the data we were looking at. I couldn't help her the way I wanted to.
"I don't want anyone else to be as unprepared as I was." That's the reason this platform exists — not to replace medical care, but to fill the gap between raw data and human understanding.
After that experience, I did what data scientists do: I investigated. I went back to the numbers, the published medical research, the population studies. What I found was sobering:
75% of chronic illness cases are only confirmed at a late stage — often Stage 4 — because awareness was absent earlier.
Over 50% of the cases I analysed had diabetes as a co-morbidity.
The role of nutrition and health awareness in preventing and managing chronic illness is lagging dramatically in the modern era — despite its documented importance in population research.
Data to Wellness was built from that investigation. It is an experimental educational project — grounded in peer-reviewed research, translated into language that doesn't require a medical degree, and shared with genuine hope that it prevents someone else from feeling the helplessness I felt.
I'm not a doctor. I'm a data analyst who lost someone and decided to do something about it.
